TEAM WHITE DEFEATS TEAM RED 5-3

OTTAWA – The first intrasquad game took place on Monday night at the University of Ottawa Sportsplex with Team White taking a 5-3 victory over Team Red.

Bobbi Jo Slusar (Swift Current, SK) scored the only goal of the first period coming at 7:39 to give Team White a 1-0 lead.

Six minutes in to the second period Team Red forward Melissa Anderson (Langley, BC) evened things up at 1-1 before Team White responded with three unanswered goals in a span of just three minutes and 14 seconds to take a commanding 4-1 lead heading in to the third period.

Goals scorers in the second period for Team White were Ashley Riggs (Pickering, ON), Dominique Thibault (L’Orignal, ON), and Chantal Larocque (Ste. Anne, MB).

Mandi Swartz (Wilcox, SK) brought Team Red to within two, but Annie Guay (Rouyn Noranda, QC) restored the three goal lead for Team White. Sarah Vaillancourt (Sherbrooke, QC) scored Team Red’s third goal, but that was as close as it would get for Team Red as Team White skated to a 5-3 victory.
