Canada erased a 2-0 deficit in the third period, but Josh Pauls scored the gold-winning goal in overtime for the second year in a row, helping the Americans defend their World Sledge Hockey Challenge gold medal with an extra-time win.

Min-Su Han scored once and added an assist, Man-Gyun Yu finished with 18 saves, and the Koreans struck twice on the power play, recording their first-ever World Sledge Hockey Challenge win and earning the bronze medal.

Billy Bridges and Dominic Cozzolino recorded a game-high five points apiece, six players had at least three points, and eight different players scored goals, helping the Canadians blank Korea and return to the gold medal game after a one-year absence.

Brody Roybal scored the game-winner midway through the third period, Declan Farmer added his tournament-leading sixth goal, and the Americans held off a challenge by the Russians, earning an opportunity to defend their gold medal in Bridgewater.

Billy Bridges and Adam Dixon scored in regulation, Dixon added the winner in the shootout, Corbin Watson finished with 27 saves, and the Canadians clinched first place in the preliminary round with an extra-time victory.

Ilia Volkov found the back of the net twice – including the winner – Ivan Berdnik had a goal and an assist, and Russia pulled away with three goals in the first 15 minutes, beating the Koreans to wrap up third place in the preliminary round.

Tyler McGregor set up Ben Delaney for the game’s first goal with 5:04 to go and scored into an empty net in the final minute, and Dominic Larocque made eight saves for the shutout to help Canada edge the pesky Koreans.

Declan Farmer had two goals and an assist – giving him seven points in two games – five other American skaters recorded multi-point performances, and the U.S. used a three-goal second period to pull away from the Russians and stay perfect.

Rob Armstrong, Tyler McGregor and Greg Westlake had a goal and an assist apiece, and Canada scored three times on the power play and once shorthanded to open its World Sledge Hockey Challenge schedule with a victory over Russia.
