CANADA STARTS STRONG IN SERIES AGAINST KOREA

SURREY, B.C. – Canada’s National Sledge Team is off to a fine start in a three-game exhibition series against Korea in British Columbia.

Four different players – Greg Westlake, Jeremy Booker, Marc Dorion and Brad Bowden – scored goals for Canada in its 4-0 victory over Korea on Sunday afternoon at the Surrey Sport and Leisure Complex.

Benoit St-Amand stopped every shot he faced to earn the shutout.

Canada scored a pair of goals in each of the first two periods, with Westlake and Booker sniping in the first and Dorion and Bowden each getting power-play markers in the second.

The two teams will meet on Monday and Tuesday afternoons (both games at 1:30 p.m. PST) at the Surrey Sport and Leisure Complex. Fans are welcome to come out and support their National Sledge Team. These games will be amongst the last Canada will play in the area prior to the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.
