February 5, 2003 Canada's National Under-22 women's hockey team defeated Germany 7-2 on Wednesday. The exhibition game served as a warmup for the European Air Canada Cup being held in Salzgitter and Hannover, Germany from February 6-8, 2003. Canada took a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Lara Perks. Both tallies were assisted by La Toya Clarke, with the first one coming on the powerplay. Germany stormed back to tie the game at two in the second period but Gina Kingsbury and Valerie Hall put Canada back on top for good with goals four and a half minutes apart. Navada Russell's first goal of the tournament gave Canada a 5-2 lead heading into the final period. Danielle Bourgeois and team captain Carla McLeod padded Canada's lead in the third and gave Canada a 7-2
win. Final shots on goal were 31-12 in favour of Canada. Canada will open up the Eurpean Air Canada Cup Thursday vs. Finland at 12:00pm (EST) in Salzgitter, Germany. Game Summary
