U22 Air Canada Cup Canada's National Women's Under 22 Team posted a come from behind 5-3 victory over Germany to capture the 2004 Air Canada Cup title on Saturday night in Bad Tolz. A loud and boisterous home crowd celebrated as Germany jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead on two goals from Maritta Becker before Canada stormed back to tie the game with two quick markers in the first 5:53 of the second period from Dana Pretty of Richmond, BC and Jeni Creary of Shell Lake, SK. Canadian captain Heather Logan of Napanee, ON tied the game with just 2:57 remaining. A tie was all Team Canada required to capture the tournament title, but Jeni Creary scored the game winner with one minute remaining on the clock. Katie Weatherston added further insurance for Canada with just 26 seconds remaining. The victory marks the second consecutive Air Canada Cup title for the National Women's Under 22 Team. Canada stormed back to tie the game with second-period goals from Dana Pretty of Richmond, B.C. and Jeni Creary of Shell Lake, Sask. Michaela Lanzl put Germany ahead, burying a centring pass behind Canadian goaltender Brittony Chartier of Saskatoon on a 5-on-3 power play at 10:14 of the third period. Canadian captain Heather Logan of Napanee, Ont., tied the game with just 2:57 remaining. A tie would have won the tournament for Canada, but Creary added some insurance, scoring the game winner with one minute remaining on the clock. Katie Weatherston of Thunder Bay, Ont., added another goal for Canada with 26 seconds remaining.
