Hunter Miska made 17 saves to record the shutout, Matt Serratore was the first of four different players to score goals and the Vees picked up their first win of the RBC Cup, becoming the first team all season to blank Mustangs.
Guillaume Therien stopped all 27 shots he faced to earn the shutout, Jordan Larson and Andy Sturtz provided the offence with three points apiece, and the Canadians blanked the Thunderbirds to start their RBC Cup with a win.
Tanner Jago’s goal broke open a tie game with less than eight minutes to go, Zac Robidoux was terrific in a 31-save performance and the Terriers opened the RBC Cup on home ice with a back-and-forth win over the Vees.
