There were many special “moments” in Canada’s win over Finland on Friday, with a record-breaking crowd of 18,013 watching Shannon Szabados earn the shutout, Bailey Bram score her first international goal and Meghan Agosta-Marciano notch a hat trick.
Canada’s National Women’s Team banked another preliminary win in women’s worlds action Wednesday, with Charline Labonté claiming the shutout and Marie-Philip Poulin putting four goals up on the scoreboard to make it 13-0 over Switzerland in Ottawa.
Rebecca Johnston and Catherine Ward scored in the third, while Jennifer Wakefield earned the game-winner in a shootout, to give Canada’s National Women’s Team the 3-2 edge over the United States on the opening day of women’s worlds in Ottawa.
