SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9

1. Rebecca Leslie (Ontario Red)
Forward Rebecca Leslie of Ottawa, Ont., sent the Ontario Red bench and family in the stands into a wild frenzy of cheers Saturday night when she put the puck past the Quebec goal line in overtime for an exciting 4-3 semifinal win that gets her seven-time championship-winning team back into the under-18 gold medal game. She also notched an assist on Ontario Red’s third goal of the game.

2. Alyson Matteau (Quebec)
Forward Alyson Matteau of Blainville, Que. displayed strong defensive skill both on the blue line and in her team’s end of the ice, helping Quebec get back into Saturday night’s semifinal against Ontario Red, with an impressive comeback that included three goals late in the third period to send the game into overtime. The win secured Quebec a spot in Sunday’s bronze medal game.

3. Alysha Burriss (Ontario Blue)
Forward Alysha Burriss of Napanee, Ont., had an outstanding offensive semifinal game Saturday evening, scoring both of Ontario Blue’s third period goals on assists from Kennedy Marchment to lead her team to a 3-1 win over host team Alberta, and a spot in Saturday’s gold medal game at the 2013 National Women’s Under-18 Championship in Calgary.


FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8

1. Alexandra Poznikoff (Alberta)
Forward Alexandra Poznikoff of Edmonton, Alta. notched an important hat trick, including the shootout game-winner, and led Alberta to a very important 5-4 win Friday night over Saskatchewan, as the crowd-thrilling victory earned the home province team a spot in semifinals Saturday – and a chance of gold at the 2013 National Women’s Under-18 Championship in Calgary.

2. Marlene Boissonnault (Team Atlantic)
Goaltender Marlene Boissonnault of Dundee, N.B., made an incredible 43 saves over three periods of play to help Team Atlantic garner a 4-3 win over British Columbia, in a west coast-east coast battle that saw her squad earn its first victory of this year’s National Women’s Under-18 Championship, taking place at Hockey Canada’s home arena in Calgary, Alta.

3. Valérie Audet (Quebec)
Valérie Audet scored an even strength goal in the second and a power play marker in the third to not only help Quebec beat defending champions Ontario Blue 6-4 in an exciting back-and-forth matchup Friday, but also secure a spot for her province in Saturday’s semifinals at the 2013 National Women’s Under-18 Championship at the Markin MacPhail Centre in Calgary.


THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7

1. Carissa Fischer (Alberta)
Alberta goaltender Carissa Fischer of Warner, Alta., made an amazing 32 saves, and stood strong between the posts in a pressure-filled shootout against seven-time champions Ontario Red, wowing a home province crowd Thursday night en route to a 1-0 win inside the Markin MacPhail Centre  at this year’s National Women’s Under-18 Championship.

2. Kassidy Sauvé (Ontario Red)
Netminder Kassidy Sauvé of Whitby, Ont., stopped an impressive 22 pucks – including a hard slapshot with her hand after her glove fell off – to help keep Ontario Red in a game Thursday night against Alberta that was arguably the most exciting and intense match-up thus far at the 2013 National Women’s Under-18 Championship in Calgary, Alta.

3. Lauryn Keen (Manitoba)
Forward Lauryn Keen of Manitou, Man., notched a natural hat trick that included an even strength goal in the last minute of the second period and two power play goals in the third period to help lead Manitoba to a 4-2 win over Saskatchewan, and help her province get its first three points in the standings, at the 2013 National Women’s Under-18 Championship.


WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6

1. Amelia Boughn (Ontario Red)
Ontario Red netminder Amelia Boughn of Toronto, Ont., put on an impressive showing between the posts for the seven-time National Women’s Under-18 Championships, facing 19 shots over three periods to backstop her team to a 6-0 shutout win over Saskatchewan to open this year’s tournament off strong for a team with undeniably high expectations.

2. Hannah Miller (British Columbia)
Forward Hannah Miller of Vancouver, B.C., a member of the Canadian contingent that won the gold medal at the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship in Heniola and Vierumäki, Finland, displayed why she’s a true leader on the ice, opening the scoring just 29 seconds into the first period to pace British Columbia to a 3-2 win over Quebec at the 2013 National Women’s Under-18 Championship.

3. Emily Monaghan (Alberta)
Forward Emily Monaghan of Calgary, Alta., notched a goal and an assist in front of hometown and home province fans, thrilling a great crowd inside the Markin MacPhail Centre along with her teammates, to help boost Alberta to a 3-2 win over Manitoba in an action-packed, fast-paced evening game that showcased the impressive female hockey on display this week at the 2013 National Women’s Under-18 Championship.
