CALGARY, Alta. – Canada’s National Women’s Development Team and Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team will host the United States for a pair of three-game series, set for Aug. 13-19 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.

The development team and under-18 team will play the first two games of the series on Thursday, Aug. 16 and Friday, Aug. 17, with the under-18 team taking the ice at 4 p.m. MT followed by the development team at 7 p.m. MT both days. The teams will wrap up their series on Sunday, Aug. 19, with the development team playing at 10 a.m. MT and the under-18 finishing with a 1 p.m. MT puck-drop.

“These series are beneficial for our program as it gives us a chance to not only evaluate our players, but also see how our players match up against the United States as they compete for a spot on our teams throughout the season,” said Gina Kingsbury, Hockey Canada’s director, national teams – women’s. “Any time Canada and the United States meet the level of competition increases, and we’re excited to welcome players from two great hockey nations to Calgary this summer.”

The two Canadian teams will be named following selection camps hosted by Hockey Canada, scheduled for Aug. 3-11 in Calgary. Leading up to the three-game series, both Canadian teams will participate in on- and off-ice sessions in preparation for their match-ups against the United States.

Single-game tickets to the development team’s three-game series can be purchased online at HockeyCanada.ca/Tickets for $10 starting July 12.

Hockey Canada is also offering a variety of ticket packages online for Novice- to Bantam-aged players ranging from $15 to $80. Ticket packages include on- and off-ice sessions, Hockey Canada apparel, entrance into a draw for an autographed Team Canada women’s Olympic jersey, and tickets to the Canada-U.S. series.
