TURIN, ITALY – Hockey Canada has teamed up with eBay Canada to offer game worn Team Canada jerseys of Canada’s 2006 Winter Olympic Hockey Teams at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy. Canada’s Women’s auction begins today, February 16th, while game worn jerseys of Canada’s Men’s Olympic hockey team will also be up for auction later in the month of February.

Hockey fans across Canada and the World have the opportunity to bid on these unique game worn items at ebay.ca and www.hockeycanada.ca beginning February 16th, for a 10 day auction ending on Saturday, February 25th, 2006.

Only three jerseys will be worn by each Team Canada player at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games – one black, one red and one white. The jerseys up for bid in this auction are the BLACK jerseys, and are game worn at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games on February 14th versus Italy.

All net proceeds from this auction will go towards the preparation and execution of Canada’s 2006 hockey and sledge hockey teams for the Olympic Winter Games and Paralympics in Turin, Italy.

Unlike the replicas sold in stores, the Team Canada jerseys that are up for auction are authentic, and includes a special ‘swift’ tie-down strap and has the player’s numbers on sleeves and back and the name bar on back of jersey.

These authentic jerseys are a 'NIKE Swift' jersey, with all the innovations of the new NIKE swift design. For more information on the new design visit http://www.onejersey.ca This is a unique opportunity to own an authentic jersey as they are not currently sold in stores – only the replica versions are available at retail.
