VERNON, B.C. – Hockey Canada announced Wednesday the schedule for the 2014 RBC Cup, which will be held at Kal Tire Place in Vernon from May 10-18, 2014.

The RBC Cup, Canada’s National Junior A Championship, will return to B.C. for the first time since 2009, and to Vernon for the first time since 1990. The event kicks off May 10, 2014 with two games on the schedule, including the host Vernon Vipers taking on the East Region champions.

The 2014 RBC Cup will bring together four regional representatives (Central, East, West #1, West #2), along with the host Vernon Vipers, to face off for the national championship.

It will be the 10th time the Vipers will appear at Canada’s National Junior A Championship, extending their own record (no other team has more than six). In addition to its record six national titles, Vernon holds all-time marks for wins (35) and goals (230) in national championship history, and it is also one of just eight hosts to win, hoisting the Centennial Cup on home ice in 1990.

The championship game will be broadcast on TSN/RDS, official broadcasters of Hockey Canada, on Sunday, May 18. Please check your local listings for broadcast times in your area. All other games, including the preliminary round and semifinals, will be available via webcast at www.hockeycanada.ca/rbccup.

The 2014 RBC Cup host committee has also unveiled a holiday ticket package, which is now on sale. For $219, plus applicable fees, the package includes a full-tournament pass for the 2014 RBC Cup, along with an RBC Cup t-shirt, hat and souvenir program.
