Max Zimmer had two goals and an assist, Rem Pitlick and Chase Pearson added a goal and two helpers each, and the Americans won a medal for the ninth consecutive year, pulling away in the second period to beat East for bronze.

German Rubtsov had two goals and two assists to pace the offence, Ivan Kosorenko scored twice, and the Russians scored seven goals on just 17 shots to advance to the gold medal game and end the Americans’ three-year reign as WJAC champions.
Tyson Jost tied a six-year-old tournament record with four points in the third period, and the two teams combined for a record nine goals in the final 20 minutes, but it’ll be the westerners playing for a gold medal after a wild win over their cross-country rivals.

Nikita Gromov scored early in the first period, Mikhail Maltsev added insurance midway through the third, Mikhail Berdin earned an 18-save shutout, and the Russians clinched top spot in Group A and a berth in the semifinals.
Liam Finlay scored the winner three minutes into the third period, Matthew Murray finished with 30 saves and the Canadians wrapped up first place in Group B, clinched a bye to the semifinals and ended the Americans’ 14-game win streak.
Mikhail Maltsev scored twice, Georgii Ivanov added a goal and an assist, and Russia broke open a scoreless game with three goals in seven minutes in the back half of the second period, beating the Canadians in Whitby to pull even atop Group A.
Six players scored goals, 14 recorded points, and Ryan Bednard made 17 saves for the shutout to lead the three-time defending gold medallists to a win in their opening game in Cobourg; the Americans have now won a record 14 straight at the WJAC.
Luc Brown scored once and added three assists, Makail Parker had a goal and two helpers, and the Canadians scored five unanswered in the second period to turn a deficit into a big lead and beat the Swiss for the first three points in Whitby.
Tyson Jost and Bobby McMann paced the offence with a goal and an assist apiece, Dante Fabbro added two assists, and the Canadians got goals from seven different players to open Group B with a big win over the Czechs in Cobourg.
