MANITOBA 3 vs. ATLANTIC 2

For the first time since 2001 – when they joined with Saskatchewan to form Team West – Manitoba has won a medal at the National Women’s Under-18 Championship, taking home the bronze after a 3-2 win over Team Atlantic in Sunday morning’s third-place game.

This afternoon, Ontario Red and Quebec will meet for the gold medal at the 2007 National Women’s Under-18 Championship. This year will mark the fourth consecutive time that these two teams have met for the national championship, and hockeycanada.ca takes a look back at the previous three.

SCHOOL PROGRAM ANNOUNCED FOR NATIONAL WOMEN’S UNDER-18 CHAMPIONSHIP

The OWHA, Hockey Canada and the City of Kitchener are offering over 4,000 students and staff from the Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB), the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) and private schools a unique opportunity to attend the championship and learn more about women’s hockey.

The School Program, which runs during major hockey events in Canada, was implemented to promote the values of team sport through hockey. » more
