It is safe to say that Team Germany is starting to get acclimatized to being in Canada. Three days since arriving in Canada, Germany turned in its best effort to date in a 3-1 win over Belarus in Castlegar, BC on Saturday. David Wolf scored two goals to lead Germany to the win.
German captain Soren Sturm scored the other goal for his team in the second period. German goalkeeper Andreas Tanzer made 35 saves between the pipes over three periods for the win.
Pavel Razvodovski scored the lone goal for Belarus. Both Valery Pronin and Vitali Trus saw time in net for Belarus.
Belarus and Germany both are in action on Monday, as the World Junior A Challenge gets underway. Belarus takes on Canada East in Trail, while Germany will face Russia in Nelson. Both games get underway at 7:30 pm (PST).
