KITCHENER, ON - Canada's National Junior team won their second game versus the Ontario University All-Stars 9-1, which featured seven different goal scorers and 12 players on Team Canada getting at least one point.

Sidney Crosby had three assists, Kyle Brodziak had a goal and two assists, and Jeff Tambellini and Ryan Getzlaf each had two goals to pace Team Canada to the victory.

Team Canada's goaltenders tended nets for both teams, with all four goaltenders at camp splitting the duties. For Canada, Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers faced 7 shots, while Marc-Andre Fleury made 12 saves, allowing one goal. Josh Harding faced nine shots and Cam Ward faced 22 for Team OUA.

KITCHENER, ON - Canada's National Junior team played their first of two exhibition games versus the Ontario University All-Stars on Sunday, beating them 2-0 in front of another standing room only crowd.

Team Canada's goaltenders tended nets for both teams, with all four remaining goaltenders at camp splitting the duties. The goaltending team of Marc-Andre Fleury (12 saves) and Josh Harding (8 saves) combined for the shutout for Team Canada, while Cam Ward (17 saves) and Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers (29 saves) played for the OUA.

Team Canada opened the scoring at 2:30 of the first period when forward Jeff Tambellini took a pass from Dion Phaneuf and put a shot top shelf and over the glove of Ward to go up 1-0.

In the only other goal of the game, Anthony Stewart and Mike Richards combined for a tick-tack-toe play, with forward Nigel Dawes putting the puck into the open net to go up 2-0.
Canada's National Junior team will play another exhibition game versus the Ontario University All-Stars on Sunday (Rogers Sportnet will broadcast the game live at 3pm Pacific time, 12midnight tape delayed for the rest of Canada – check local listings).

TEAM CANADA CAMP NEWS

• Defenseman Ian White, who was cleared by medical staff on Saturday tobegin skating, took to the ice on both Saturday night and Sunday morning. Whitewill skate on Monday at practice, and the coaching staff will monitor his progress.

• Both inter-squad games and Sunday's OUA game have been sold outand standing room only. Many of Team Canada's practices are also filledat near capacity here in Kitchener.

• Canada's coaching staff will make more player releases on Mondayand Tuesday mornings, and will announce the final Team Canada roster on Tuesday

 

TEAM RED 4 - TEAM WHITE 4

KITCHENER, ON - Team Red and Team White skated to their second straight draw, as the teams tied 4-4 at Canada's National Junior team selection camp on Saturday night. The two teams tied 5-5 on Friday night.

Team White had four different goal scorers in tonight's match-up, with Corey Perry getting two points (1 goal and 1 assist). Team Red had three players with two points a piece – Daniel Paille and Kyle Brodziak each with a goal and an assist, while defenseman Ian Swanson had two assists.

Josh Harding started in goal for Team White, stopping 19 of 21 shots over a period and a half prior to changing goaltenders 10:38 into the 2nd period. Maxime Daigneault then came into the game for Team White, facing 20 shots and making 18 saves.

Team Red's Cam Ward faced 21 shots allowing one goal, then Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers faced 21 shots allowing three goals against.

Team White got on the board first, when Eric Fehr scored with the assists going to Sidney Crosby and Jeff Tambellini. Team Red evened the score at 1-1 with 27 seconds left in the first period as Brent Burns scored with the assist going to Stephen Dixon.

Paille and Ryan Getzlaf combined to feed a pass across the slot for Brodziak to direct into the net at 8:17 of the second period for Red to go up 2-1. Adam Courchane scored for White, with the assists going to Perry and Adam Henrich at 12:23. Team Red then scored two goals: Tim Brent from Kevin Klein and Swanson at 14:19 and Paille from Brodziak and Swanson at 15:54 to give them a 4-2 lead after 2 periods.

Team White scored two goals in the third period: Nigel Dawes from Jeff Carter and Anthony Stewart at 5:18, then Corey Perry scored on a penalty shot at 6:11 to complete the game at 4-4 (penalty shots were awarded in lieu of serving 2 minute penalties).

Canada's National Junior team will play two exhibition games on Sunday and Monday versus the Ontario University All-Stars (Rogers Sportnet will broadcast both games – check local listings).

TEAM RED 5 - TEAM WHITE 5

Team Red's Brent Burns scored three goals and Team White's Corey Perry had two goals as Canada's National Junior team's first inter-squad game ended in a 5-5 tie. Braydon Coburn and Stephen Dixon both had two assists each for Team Red, while Derek Meech and Adam Henrich each had one goal and one assist for Team White.

Burns, on loan from the NHL's Minnesota Wild, opened the scoring at 1:56 of the first period, beating Team White's goaltender Maxime Daigneault. Burns added his second at 5:14, taking advantage of a bounce of the end boards and with the help of Coburn and Kevin Klein, to go up 2-0. Jeff Carter scored for Team White at 8:20 on a wrist shot from the top of the circles, beating goaltender Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers to the top left corner to bring the score to 2-1 at the end of the 1st period.

Team White's Corey Perry scored on a penalty shot at 8:20 in the second period (penalty shots were issued instead of a player serving a 2 minute penalty) to tie the game 2-2.With 10:18 left to play in the 2nd period, both teams changed goalies. Drouin-Deslauriers faced 21 shots and Daigneault faced 22 shots – both allowing 2 goals a piece.

Team White's Meech scored through a crowd of players at 16:16 to take the lead 3-2 after two periods. 33 seconds into the 3rd period, Corey Perry scored for Team White, with Adam Courchaine and Henrich picking up the assists, but Red's Maxime Talbot scored at 4:43 on a penalty shot to bring the score to 4-3. Talbot and Tim Brent assisted on a goal by Jeremy Colliton at 7:22 to tie the game at 4-4, when Henrich scored 27 seconds later with the assists going to Meech and Perry.Burns scored his 3rd goal of the game at 13:23 to tie the game 5-5. Cam Ward had 11 shots for Team Red, while Josh Harding faced 18 shots for Team White in the second half of the game.

Team Red and Team White will face off again on Sat. Dec. 13th at 6pm ET at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.
