Canada's National Men's Team wrapped up the 2003 Swiss Cup with a 5-3 win over the host country Switzerland on Sunday.  Peter Sarno led Canada's offence, scoring once and adding three assists.

Switzerland took a 2-0 lead in the first period as Canada was trying to regroup after losing two defencemen to injury early in the game.  Canadian goaltender Frédéric Chabot was tested numerous times and kept Canada in the game, trailing by two goals heading into the second period.

Brandon Convery got Canada on the board at the 2:12 mark of the second as he converted a Sarno pass.  Switzerland replied 47 seconds later to regain their two-goal lead.  Shayne Toporowski put Canada back within one with his first goal of the tournament at 4:36 and set the stage for a Canadian comeback as Sarno and Jan Alston put Canada ahead 4-3 before the end of the period.

In the third, Canada added an insurance goal when Convery netted his second of the game at the 18:23 mark.  Once again, Chabot was solid in the third, defending Canada's lead and preserving the victory (39 saves).  Canada outshot Switzerland 45-42.

Canada finished tied with Germany in second place in the final standings with three points and a 1-1-1 record, but due to goal differential, finished third behind Germany and the Swiss Cup champions, Slovakia.
