DAVOS 2 Mark Bell scored twice and J-P Vigier and Jean-Guy Trudel had a goal and an assist apiece as Canada earned a victory over the Spengler Cup host side. Wade Dubielewicz made 31 saves to record the win. |

KARLOVY VARY 6 (SO) Serge Aubin scored the game-winner in a shootout to help the Canadians skate away with a 7-6 win over Czechoslovakia-based team Energie Karlovy Vary on the opening day of The Spengler Cup. |
