December 29, 2002
Davos, Switzerland

Canada's National Men's Team kept the ball rolling Sunday morning with a 4-3 win over TPS Turku (FIN). Canada now has a perfect 3-0 record at the 2002 Spengler Cup.

An offensive first period featured five goals between the two teams with Canada taking a 3-2 lead into the second period. Mike Maneluk's third goal of the tournament only 0:45 seconds in gave Canada an early 1-0 lead. Their lead would be short lived as TPS Turku notched two quick ones in a 2:57 span. Mike Craig tied things up at the 8:48 mark and Paul DiPietro put Canada back on top with his first of two goals at 9:29.

Both teams exchanged goals in the middle frame with TPS tying the game at three at the 3:40 mark. DiPietro netted his second of the game on the power play at 9:45 giving Canada a 4-3 lead.

Defence took over for the rest of the game as neither team could manage another goal despite several great scoring chances.

Corey Hirsch (Utah - AHL - Dallas Stars) recorded his second win of the tournament between the pipes for Canada.

Canada will now face the reigning Spengler Cup champion HC Davos in their final round robin game on Monday at 9:30am (EST).
