Canada 4 - USA 1 Deutschland Cup Mannheim, Germany - Team Canada won its second consecutive game on Thursday, defeating the U.S. 4-1 at the brand new SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany. Team Canada opened the scoring on a power play goal by Jame Pollock from a slap shot from the point. Andy Schneider scored his first of two goals at the 18:25 mark of the second period to give Team Canada a 2-0 lead after two periods. Dominic Pittis put Canada ahead 3-0 on a power play marker with a tip-in goal off of a shot by captain, Dan Lambert. Team USA replied late with the only goal that beat Team Canada player of the game Jeff Maund. Maund faced 34 shots and was named Canada's player of the game allowing only one goal for a second consecutive outing. Team Canada will travel to Hannover on Friday morning by plane and face Slovakia (0-1) at 4:00PM (local time). The Slovaks were beaten by the Swiss 4-2 in the afternoon game today in Mannheim. Canada will have Saturday off and face Germany on Sunday afternoon.
