NORWAY WINS BRONZE WITH WIN OVER JAPAN
CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Norway wasn’t about to let lightning strike twice.
Tommy Rovelstad scored two goals to lead Norway to a 4-0 win over Japan in the bronze medal game on
Saturday at the 2009 World Sledge Hockey Challenge. Norway, which dropped a 1-0 decision to Japan on Tuesday
night in the upset of the tournament, started with a goal at 10:33 of the first period from Eskil Hagen and
never looked back.
Loyd Remi Johansen scored a great goal when he finished a passing play set up by Rolf Pedersen at the
11:10 mark of the second and Rovelstad sniped a shot from the point before the end of the middle frame before
adding his second of the game just over seven minutes into the third.
Norway came into the game not having scored a goal in the tournament. Roger Johansen earned the shutout in
the Norwegian net.
