THREE NATIONS VIERUMAKI, FI- Canada's National Women's team made it a perfect 3 and 0 at the 3 Nations Cup on Monday, in Vierumaki, Finland with a 5-1 victory over Sweden. Canada opened the scoring for a third consecutive game, as Caroline Ouellette pounced on a rebound to beat Swedish netminder Kim Martin at 5:36 of the opening frame. Sweden resisted to Canada's constant pressure until Sweden finally evened the score as Ann-Louise Edstrand put a loose puck past Canadian goaltender Sami Jo Small. Ouellette put Canada ahead 2-1 at 1:33 of the 2nd period, putting a rebound into an empty net, after her linemate Danielle Goyette had almost scored on Martin. The native of Montreal, Qc made it a hat trick at 4:45, again taking advantage of a loose puck to score. Dana Antal added a marker to make the score 4-1 after two periods of play. Jayna Hefford added a goal in the third as Canada skated to a 5-1 win. Canada plays its final game at the 3 Nations Cup on Tuesday, November 6th against Finland in Mikkeli, Finland.
