San Jose, CA - Canada's National Women's team and Team USA faced off on Tuesday evening in San Jose, CA.

Team USA beat Canada the first game of this two-game series 4-1 on Saturday, October 20 in Salt Lake City, UT, and both teams faced off again tonight.

Canada had the best chance early as Caroline Ouellette was sent in alone one minute into the game by Hayley Wickenheiser but USA goaltender Sara DeCosta made the save. USA opened the scoring as Tricia Dunn scored on a powerplay at 8:13 of the first period.

Canada evened the score on the heels on killing off a penalty as Hayley Wickenheiser went end to end and beat DeCosta on a spectacular goal. The celebrations were short lived however, as Carisa Zaban of Team USA intercepted a pass at Canada's blueline and went in alone on Small, scoring a shorthanded goal.

Less then a minute later, Team USA took a two-goal advantage over Canada as veteran Karyn Bye scored from in close in the slot.

Canada pressed but USA goaltender DeCosta stood in their way. Cherie Piper had Canada's best scoring chance as she cut past the USA defence but DeCosta stood her ground. Krissy Wendell made the score 4-1 for Team USA at 10:50 and that score stood after forty minutes of play.

USA went on to a 4-1 victory. These two teams will not face each other again until November 27th in Ottawa.
