2002-03 National Women's Team

FOUR NATIONS CUP
NOVEMBER 6, 2002
KITCHENER, ONTARIO

Finnish forward Riikka Nieminen-Valila scored two goals in the third period to give Finland a 2-2 tie with Sweden on Wednesday.

Sweden, who captured the Olympic bronze medal in February in Salt Lake City, led 2-0 after two periods on goals by Danijela Rundqvist, but couldn't stop the Finnish attack in the 3rd period.

Swedish goaltender Kim Martin, who is 16 years old, stopped 34 of 36 shots for Sweden. Jenna Moilanen stopped 16 of 18 shots for Finland. Martin was the young hero who was in goal in February for Sweden's Olympic bronze, when at the age of 15 she stopped 32 shots in a 2-1 victory.

Finland and Sweden join Canada and the USA this week at the 4 Nations Cup in Kitchener, ON.
