Red 3 - White 3

RED, WHITE WRAP UP CAMP WITH TIE

TORONTO, Ont. – Bailey Bram (Ste. Anne, Man./Mercyhurst College, CHA) scored midway through the third period to salvage a tie for Red as it finished undefeated at the National Women's Team selection camp after a 3-3 draw with White on Tuesday night at the MasterCard Centre.

Red won the first two games 6-4 and 4-2 to assure itself of a series victory heading into Tuesday's finale.

Early on it looked as if Red would make it a clean sweep of the three games, with goals from Mallory Deluce (London, Ont./University of Wisconsin, WCHA) and Noémie Marin (Acton Vale, Que./Montreal, CWHL) giving it a 2-0 lead 15 minutes into the first period.

But Jayna Hefford (Kingston, Ont./Brampton, CWHL) got White on the board before the end of the first and Hayley Wickenheiser (Shaunavon, Sask./University of Calgary, CIS) and Tara Watchorn (Newcastle, Ont./Boston University, HE) scored the only goals of the second as White took a one-goal lead to the second intermission, the first time in the three games it was up after 40 minutes.

White wasted a chance to go up by a pair on its only power play of the game early in the third period, and Bram made White pay at the 10:05 mark, beating Shannon Szabados (Edmonton, Alta./Grant MacEwan University, ACAC) to pull Red even.

Despite holding a 41-24 advantage in shots on goal, White failed to get a fourth goal and was forced to settle for the tie.

Szabados and Charline Labonté (Boisbriand, Que./McGill University, CIS) shared time in the White goal, combining to make 21 saves, while Liz Knox (Stouffville, Ont./Wilfrid Laurier University, CIS) and Kim St-Pierre (Châteauguay, Que./Montreal, CWHL) split the goaltending duties for Red in a 38-save performance.
