TARR’S TWO LEAD WHITE TO INTERSQUAD VICTORY

CALGARY, Alta. – It’s a good start for Ally Tarr and Team White at the National Women’s Under-18 Team selection camp.

Tarr (London, Ont.) scored twice, including the overtime winner, as White opened up the intersquad portion of the camp with a 4-3 win over Team Red on Saturday night at Father David Bauer Olympic Arena.

After being sent in on a breakaway by Sarah Davis (Paradise, N.L.), Tarr snapped a shot over the glove of White goaltender Erica Howe (Orleans, Ont.), completing White’s comeback from a late 3-2 deficit.

Kelly Terry (Whitby, Ont.) and Theadora Imbrogno (Etobicoke, Ont.), with the game-tying goal with eight minutes to go, also scored for White, which led 2-0 late in the first period before watching Red notch three goals in 7:18 take a one-goal lead.

Kayla Tutino (Lorraine, Que.) scored twice and hometown girl Brittany Styner (Calgary, Alta.) – the only Albertan at camp – added one for Red, which was outshot 28-15 overall and managed just eight shots over the final 42 minutes.

The two teams return to the ice on Monday at 7:45 p.m. MT when they face off in the first of two four-on-four games.
