Canada's National Women's Under 22 Team defeated Switzerland 5-0 in an exhibition game at Romanshorn, Switzerland on Wednesday. The contest served as a tune up for the 2004 Air Canada Cup February 5-7th in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Bad Tolz, Germany.
Kaley Hall of Calgary paced Canada's attack with two goals, while Meagan Walton of Calgary, Katie Weatherston of Thunder Bay, ON and Ashley Riggs of Pickering, ON added singles. Canada led 2-0 at the end of two periods before pulling away in the third. Brittony Chartier of Saskatoon and Jana Bugden of Cornerbrook, NF shared the shutout. Canada outshot Switzerland 54-12.
Team Canada travels to Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Thursday to begin Air Canada Cup competition against Finland.
