Canada's National Women's Under 22 Team upped their record to 2-0 at the Air Canada Cup with a 6-0 victory over Switzerland on Friday at Bad Tolz, Germany.
Fifteen year old goaltender Florence Schelling was stellar in goal for the Swiss, holding Canada off the scoreboard until Heather Logan opened the scoring at 7:24 of the second period. Meaghan Mikkelson of St. Albert, AB added her first of two goals before the end of the period, while Annie Guay of Rouyn Noranda, QC, Rebecca Russell of Clarenville, NF and Jeni Creary of Shell Lake, SK scored for Canada in the third period. Jana Bugden of Cornerbrook, NF posted the shutout.
Team Canada will play their third and final game at the Air Canada Cup on Saturday against Germany.
