UNITED STATES 1 – CANADA 2 (SO)
GOLD MEDAL | SUN. MAR. 1

Adam Dixon scored the lone goal in the fifth round of the shootout and Paul Rosen stopped all five Americans he faced as Canada claimed the gold medal at the 2009 Hockey Canada Cup with a victory over the U.S. on Sunday night in Vancouver. Graeme Murray scored the lone goal in regulation for Canada, which is three-for-three in tournaments in 2008-09.


 

 

GERMANY 2 – JAPAN 3 (SO)
BRONZE MEDAL | SUN. MAR. 1

Takayuki Endo and Satoru Sudo scored goals in the final three minutes of the third period and Daisuke Uehara had the lone goal in the shootout as Japan took home bronze from the 2009 Hockey Canada Cup with a win over Germany on Sunday afternoon at UBC Thunderbird Arena.


 

CANADA 9 – GERMANY 0

Billy Bridges scored three times and added three assists and Greg Westlake notched a hat trick of his own as Canada advanced to the gold medal game with a romp over the Germans.

 

UNITED STATES 3 – JAPAN 2

Andy Yohe scored twice, once shorthanded and once on the power play, as the Americans booked a spot in Sunday’s gold medal game in Vancouver with a victory over Japan.


 

CANADA 6 – JAPAN 2
PRELIMINARY | THU. FEB. 26

Canada scored three goals in 51 seconds just past the midway point of the third period to turn a tight, one-goal game into a runaway as it wrapped up first place in the prelims.

Josh Pauls and Taylor Chace scored the goals as the United States cracked the win column with a win over Germany. The wins clinched the third seed heading into Saturday's semifinals.

Billy Bridges scored twice in the opening nine minutes and Canada held off the United States over the last two periods, scoring a thrilling one-goal win over the U.S. to stay unbeaten.

JAPAN 4 – GERMANY 1 | PRELIMINARY | WED. FEB. 25
Takayuki Endo and Kazuhiro Takahashi scored just 18 seconds apart late in the second period to give Japan some insurance as it moved to 2-0 with a win over Germany.

GERMANY 1 – CANADA 12 | PRELIMINARY | TUE. FEB. 24
Brad Bowden racked up two goals and four assists, while Billy Bridges pitched in with three goals and two helpers as Canada routed Germany 12-1 in its opening game on Tuesday.

Japan got goals from Satoru Sudo, Naohiko Ishida and Daisuke Uehara as it opened the 2009 Hockey Canada Cup with a 3-1 win over the United States on Tuesday in Vancouver.

Catch the gold medal game from the 2009 Hockey Canada Cup live on TSN2 on Sunday, March 1 at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST. The game will be shown on the main TSN network at midnight EST/9 p.m. PST.

HOCKEY CANADA CUP COMING TO VANCOUVER
Four of the world’s top sledge hockey teams – Canada, Germany, Japan and the United States – will converge on UBC Thunderbird Arena in Vancouver from February 24 to March 1 for the first-ever Hockey Canada Cup.
