Canada's Women's Olympic hockey team completed the preliminary round of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games with a perfect 3-0 record after a convincing 11-0 victory over Sweden on Saturday at the Peaks Ice Arena in Provo, Utah.

Despite a slow start, leading 1-0 after one period, Canada exploded for four goals in the second period and six more in the third to earn the victory. Jayna Hefford lead the attack for Canada, scoring her first goal of the tournament and adding three assists. Jennifer Botterill was also an offensive threat for Canada, scoring a pair of goals and adding an assist.

Kim St-Pierre recorded the win in goal for Canada, notching her second consecutive shutout at the 2002 games. St-Pierre stopped all 22 shots she faced, recording her 31st all-time National Women's Team victory in front of 6,306 fans at the Peaks Ice Arena .

Canada will now have two days to practice before facing Finland in Tuesday's semi-final match-up. Tuesday's game will be at the E Center at 11:00am (MT). With a win, Canada will advance to the gold medal game on Thursday at 5:00pm (MT) at the E Center in Salt Lake City.
